I just finished The Enchantress of Florence so I get to cross one off my list! I won't say much yet, but the ending kind of comes out of nowhere. I still haven't decided how I feel about the ending but I really liked the book overall. Rushdie's writing is beautiful.

I think I had like 30 pages left when I had to return it to the library, so I'll have to go get it back.
How are we going to decide on the other 9 books in our MML category?
I have been thinking of that. There are quite a few we are all reading that are the same. Like Jane Eyre, for instance. But we are all putting those in different categories.
Also, I was thinking...Miri, have you read I Capture the Castle yet? Because if you haven't, you should put it in your movies category bc you need to read the book and watch the movie.
I have read it, and it was amazing! I actually wrote about it on Reading Loons a while ago, when I started it. I didn't know there was a movie though. I will definitely have to look that up.
I think that since there are nine slots open, maybe each of us should suggest three to include in the list. We can discuss and maybe switch some out if someone doesn't like one of the options, but that seems like the best way to me. Like you said, those books are going in different categories, and I don't want to just include books by default because we all happen to be reading them. That would waste the potential of what could be a really fun list of books. :)

Yeah, but we'll definitely need to pass them all. For example, you two may be reading Jane Eyre for the first time, but I've already read it several times and won't be reading it again this time around. I still have quite a bit of Rushdie left, but I can't go back to anything until the Tolstoy is done. (Can't let people give the ending away at book club!)
I'll do some considering and we can start refining a list.
